Founder
Chad Hackman
Chad is certified as a NASM Personal Trainer, NASM Group Exercise Instructor, and Level 3 Fascia Stretch Practitioner. Chad started Evolution Barbell in 2016 to create a place that helps people become the best possible version of themselves while also forming a supportive community. Chad enjoys fitness, food, reading, and sports!

Yoga Instructor
Susan Bonin
Susan is our yoga instructor and she teaches both Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. She also is a certified Level 3 FST Practitioner who loves to help people feel better and move better. Susan works full time as a physician's assistant in an emergency department which tells you that she's all about helping people improve and get better. Susan's encouraging and supportive personality is contagious and brings everyone around her up!

Kaitlyn Mader
Kaitlyn is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, and The Meal Prep Queen. After 15 years in the food industry and losing 100lbs herself, she made the decision to start helping others embark upon their own health and fitness journey. Along her fitness journey, Kaitlyn has picked up a love for yoga and you will often see her attending Wednesday night Vinyasa Yoga. Kaitlyn is also cat mom to KitKat and Krackel, enjoys gardening, working with animals and writing cookbooks to help others with their nutrition goals.

Ben Pennycoff
Ben is currently a NASM Certified Trainer specializing in nutrition and weight loss. He enjoys helping others get started in the gym so they can build up their confidence and become a stronger and healthier version of themselves. In his free time, Ben train as a powerlifter and also does runway and fashion modeling.

Pilates & Group Fitness Instructor
Sarah Clem
Sarah joined EVB in June 2022 and quickly developed a passion for her fitness journey, as well as the team and culture of EVB. Sarah became a certified Power Pilates Instructor in Spring 2023, as well as a NASM certified Group Fitness Instructor. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, dining out, hiking, and curling up with a good book or a movie. Deep soul connections feed her, and she is a firm believer in the healing power of a hug.

Denise Garman
Denise became a NASM certified personal trainer because of her own health and fitness journey. Being a busy mom of two teenagers and working full-time as a Human Resources consultant, she understands well the challenges that midlife brings when it comes to juggling family, work and your own well-being. Her background in leadership coaching pairs well with her role as a personal trainer. She is passionate about helping others become the best version of themselves, which she believes is an on-going journey. She enjoys attending her children’s band events, trying new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and is always up for a new adventure.

Kristen Nelson
Kristen is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and has NASM certifications in Behavioral Change, Weight Loss Management, Sports Nutrition Coaching, and Balance Training. She is also a Level 1 Certified Nutrition Coach through NCI and is working on her Level 2 certification. She is also currently enrolled in the Mind Pump Elite Trainer Certification Program. Kristen became a personal trainer after seeing 9 girls on the ELCO soccer team suffer ACL tears within a few seasons. She felt like there had to be something she could do to help prevent this from happening, so she developed a strength training program for female athletes to help with injury prevention. EVB has held the program for 2 summers and injuries among the athletes that have attended have been minimal. Kristen and her husband, Mike, have 6 active children, 3 have graduated and 3 are still in high school. She enjoys spending time with them, being involved with their activities, and you may even see her on the sideline taking pictures to share with teammates and their families. She also enjoys traveling, cooking and meal prepping, cycling, and the beach.

Gracyn Smith
Gracyn is currently a student at Coastal Carolina University, majoring in nutrition and wellness studies. She enjoys strength training, baking, traveling, and music. Her goal is to eventually help individuals reach their performance an overall health goals with proper nutrition strategies. Gracyn is always excited to learn anything health and wellness related.

Tricia Smith
Tricia is married to her high school sweetheart, Scott, and they have 3 amazing children. She works full-time at WellSpan Philhaven as the Director of Provider Affairs and has been an EVB member for several years, prior to joining the front desk staff. She loves spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, listening to live music, reading, drinking coffee and all things pumpkin!

Administrative Manager
Wendy Saylor
Wendy has been married to her husband Joel for 35 years, is a mom of 2 beautiful daughters, and Gaga to 2 grandchildren. Her heart is full when she is spending time with her family and traveling with friends. Wendy is a faithful 49ers fan of 40 years! She loves cooking, reading, dancing, family vacations, wine, chocolate, and early mornings ALONE wit her coffee!
